Dr. Jenifer Wieneke
Veterinarian & Owner
Dr. Jenifer Wieneke was born and raised in Cold Spring, Kentucky. She attended Northern Kentucky University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1997. After college, she worked as a business manager for a local Urology practice but knew that veterinary medicine was her lifelong passion. She went back to school and attended Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 2006. After graduation, she returned home to work in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky as a small animal veterinarian. She joined East Hills Veterinary Clinic in February 2012.
Dr. Wieneke is a member of the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association, the Cincinnati Veterinary Medical Association, and American Veterinary Medical Association, where she has been a speaker at their annual national conference. Her veterinary interests include all aspects of feline practice, internal medicine and soft tissue surgery.
In her spare time, she volunteers her time for the SPCA Cincinnati’s Fur Ball and for a local basketball tournament which benefits her high school. She has a rambunctious 8 year old son, whom she tries to keep up with the help of Jeff, her husband of 19 years. She has lovable 3 dogs that she has adopted from various shelters. Her hobbies include reading, spending time with her family, shopping, and playing softball.
Dr. Kate Johansen
Dr. Kate Johansen was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Her love for animals started at an early age and was fostered by her family’s many dogs, cats, and horses. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology before attending the Oklahoma State University Center for Veterinary Health Sciences, where she received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2016. Upon graduation, she accepted an equine internship in Boise, Idaho. Despite her love for horse, she decided to widen her horizons and started working on small animals in 2017, and she has loved working on them! Her veterinary interests include dentistry, ophthalmology, preventative medicine and soft tissue surgery. In her spare time, she enjoys running, and has completed a couple of half marathons, although she doubts she will ever be ambitious enough to complete a full marathon! Despite not being a native of Cincinnati, she has embraced the professional sports the city has to offer and enjoys following the Reds and the Bengals. She loves spending time at home with her husband, Eric, and two dogs, Roxie and Ellie.
Dr. Bergman
Veterinarian
Dr. Bergman is from Stillwater, Minnesota and attended the University of Minnesota for both her Biology and Veterinary degree which she earned in 2010. She completed a veterinary internship with Stillwater Equine Veterinary Hospital after graduation and spent the next five years working as a veterinarian in Minnesota before relocating to Cincinnati in 2015.
When she’s not at work, Dr. Bergman likes gardening, cooking, and horseback riding. She and her husband, Gabe, have two wonderful daughters named Penny and Lily, as well as several pets: one scruffy dog named Gertie; and three cats named Zeus, Snicklefritz and Wonder. She looks forward to meeting and caring for the clients and patients at East Hill’s Veterinary Clinic.
Amanda Craycraft
Registered Veterinary Technician
Amanda is one of our Veterinary Technicians; she graduated from UC Raymond Walters in 1999. She worked in Internal Medicine after graduation and has been with EHVC since 2008. Amanda is married, has one human child and 3 four-legged children; a cat Ahsoka, a dog Zip, and a leopard gecko Fiona. She enjoys playing soccer, bike rides with her son and cheering him on during soccer and basketball.
Vicki Morris
RVT
Vicki took early retirement from the corporate world to pursue her passion to care for animals. She returned to school and graduated from the University of Cincinnati Blue Ash Veterinary Technology program in 2019. Vicki is married with three grown children and two beautiful grandsons. She and her husband, Dale, have two wire-haired pointing griffon dogs named Fargo and Luna.
Vicki is especially interested in Oncology as she continues to care for Fargo in his battle with Lymphoma. Vicki also enjoys volunteering at local canine events like My Furry Valentine and Canine Corps.
Ashleigh Brock
Receptionist
Ashleigh Brock joined East Hills Vet Clinic in early 2020, bringing with her years of experience in the veterinary field
Ashleigh loves all animals but has a particular passion for dogs. She has a house full of dogs; Chaos, Capone, Thor, Steele, Daisey Mae and Lorette Gene. Ashleigh's passion was passed on to her from her mother who fostered Pitties and other dogs for most of Ashleigh's childhood.
Patti Alexander
Veterinary Assistant
Patti joined East Hills Vet Clinic in April, 2020 as a Veterinary Assistant. For the past 30 years, she has been caring for dogs and cats. As an Assistant at East Hills, she partners with the Technicians and Doctors to make your "furry loved ones" feel as comfortable as possible. Outside of work, Patti is a proud mom of a recent high school graduate and a fur mom of two cats and two dogs. For fun, she enjoys hiking, camping, music and festivals.
Julie Snyder
RVT
Julie Snyder, RVT, grew up in a small town in Indiana where 4H, livestock, and pets were a huge part of her upbringing. Her passion for animals led her to become involved with Midwest Pet Refuge. As a foster for MPR, Julie decided to pursue a career as a veterinary technician. She is a 2015 graduate from Brown Mackie in Fort Wayne, IN, and became registered shortly after that. She completed her externship at an AAHA accredited emergency and specialty hospital, which gave her a strong foundation for her future in veterinary medicine. Julie has spent her career working at small animal clinics, before making the transition to East Hills.
As an RVT, Julie’s interests including; nursing care, surgical and dental procedures, as well as Fear Free handling, making the visit less stressful for the patient, as well as the clients.
Outside of work, Julie enjoys gardening and growing houseplants. Her favorite varieties of plants are succulents. Julie also enjoys spending time with her two pit bulls, Petey and Fiona, as well as Francesca, her small breed mixed dog. In her spare time, she still continues to support Midwest Pet Refuge, and travels to their events to volunteer.
Kirk Hampton
Hospital Administrator
Kirk is an Ohio native with a background in finance and operations , retail and customer service. Kirk joined East Hills Veterinary Clinic in February , 2020 . Kirks love of animals brought him to the veterinary industry over 7 years ago and is reminded daily with three English bull dogs Named Tank, Tango , Winston why he enjoys what he does every day . In his spare time Kirk enjoys running, fitness , volunteering at Hospice , spending time with family and friends .
Rob Kloss
Veterinarian Assistant
Rob grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. He graduated from Canisius College in 2015 with a BS in Animal Behavior. He has since worked with domestic and exotic species in veterinary and zoological settings. Currently he is pursuing his masters degree through Johns Hopkins University's Online Campus. His goal is to someday design exhibits for science and natural history museums. In his free time he enjoys painting, hiking, and mountain biking.
Heather Catron
Veterinarian Assistant
Heather is our most senior veterinary assistant. She has been with East Hills Vet Clinic for 3 years. Heather is often referred to as our "Dog Whisperer" for her uncanny ability to make even the most anxious animal a little calmer.
Outside of work, Heather's constant companion is her Australian Cattle Dog, Nixie. You may see them in area parks and hiking trails.
Dr. Ariel Hudson
Veterinarian
I am a Cincinnati native and grew up in Loveland, OH. I received my Bachelor of Science in Biology from Northern Kentucky University in 2016, and also played for the Women’s soccer team while attending school. I will graduate from Lincoln Memorial University with my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in May 2021. My interests in veterinary medicine include surgery, preventive medicine, working with pocket pets and integrative medicine including acupuncture and physical rehabilitation. I’m level 3 Fear Free Certified, and have my Silver Level Certification in Low Stress Handling. My husband, Steven, and I are excited to return to the area after graduation. We also have four dogs whose names are Akira, Luna, Rosie and Izzy. In our free time we enjoy traveling the country, hiking, mountain biking, and white-water rafting/kayaking. I also enjoy playing recreational sports including soccer, basketball and sand volleyball.
